Cooking Recipe :

IngredientsChicken Reshmi Dal

  • Chicken (leg piece)  ½ kg
  • Ginger garlic paste  2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander powder   1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds ground 1 tsp
  • Mix Whole spice as required
  • Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves 1 tsp
  • Oil  4 tbsp
  • Water  ½ cup
Ingredients for Lentils (Dal)
  • Yellow lentils 50 gm
  • Red lentils 50 gm
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Onion  1 medium
  • Turmeric  1 tsp
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Water  1 – 1 ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind paste  2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves  2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream 4 tbsp

Method

  1. In a pan put together 50 gm yellow lentils, 50 gm red lentils, 3 tbsp oil, 1 chopped onion, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp all spice, 1 – 1 ½ cup water, salt to taste and 2 tbsp tamarind pulp.
  2. In wok heat 4 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste and ½ kg chicken, cook till chicken is golden brown in color.
  3. Now add salt to taste, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp fennel seeds ground, 1 tsp crushed red pepper, 1 tsp dry fenugreek leaves, 4 tbsp oil, a little mix whole spice and ½ cup water.
  4. Cook for 8 – 10 minutes, then turn the flame off, remover from fire.
  5. Now blend the lentils mixture well. Add the blended mixture to the chicken.
  6. Fry well on high flame, add 4 tbsp fresh cream and 2 tbsp coriander leaves.
  7. Cook till gravy thickens, dish it out and serve.
